ABSTRACT

Region-based development is development that involves and participates all elements of society. Community participation in governance and regional development is carried out in a planned and sustainable manner, carried out continuously by the government together with all community members or carried out by the community led by the government. Community Empowerment Institute (LPM) is one of the empowerment institutions domiciled in the kalurahan and / or kelurahan areas that has an important role in helping and supporting development in the region. The function and duties of LPM as a partner of the district government in absorbing community aspirations related to village/village development planning and mobilizing the community in implementing village development with self-help gotong-royong. The importance of LPM in regional development must be accompanied by increased knowledge and understanding of the functions and tasks of LPM. Through counseling on institutional strengthening of LPMKal Ngawis, Kapanewon Karangmojo, Gunungkidul Regency results were obtained in strengthening LPMKal knowledge and understanding in carrying out its role as a government partner in area-based development. This is reflected in the material presented related to the Region-Based Development System in the DIY Region and the Tasks and Functions of LPMKal in Planning and Implementing Region-Based Development. In the future, this extension activity is expected to be carried out in a sustainable and expanded manner, both the targets and materials provided.
