ECOLOGICAL AQUACULTURE: PENGEMBANGAN BUDIDAYA KEPITING BAKAU DENGAN SISTEM APARTEMEN SILVOFISHERY DI HUTAN MANGROVE MUNJANG DESA KURAU BARAT DAN ASPEK HUKUMNYA

Abstract

Mangrove forests have great potential if managed and utilized properly. Mud crab is a natural biota of mangrove forests which has quite high economic value. This program is implemented in order to develop and optimize the existing potential of partner communities. Based on the results of the identification, it shows that the pond model of mangrove crab cultivation applied by partner communities has many weaknesses and has negative ecological impacts. This service aims to overcome problems and accelerate the understanding and application of partner science and technology. Mud crab cultivation with a silvofisfery apartment system is the main solution as well as understanding legality and business management as additional support. The program is implemented through socialization methods, inventory, workshops, mentoring, monitoring, and focus group discussions. The program that has been implemented provides impacts and benefits in improving the socio-economic conditions of the community through appropriate and sustainable utilization and management of mangrove forests.
