Memaknakan Praktik Adat Istiadat Melayu Bangka di Desa Kemuja, Kabupaten Bangka

Abstract

This study aims to understand the practices of Melayu Bangka customs that exist in the community in Kemuja Village. This area is known for its predominantly Melayu community and is known as the city of santri. As an area of education (religion) is certainly the goal of the community from outside the area to come to this village. The implementation of these activities is divided into three stages, namely the preparation stage, the material delivery stage, and the evaluation stage. Data sources will be obtained through observation and interviews whose infornman determined by pusposive sampling. The results show that the meaning of traditional practices of the Kemuja Village community in general can’t be separated from their beliefs, which are mostly Muslim. They are very attached to existing traditions, both those that are manifestations of the teachings of Islam and preserve the culture of ancestors. Various customs activities are carried out, even impressed Kemuja village people live with full of customs practices.
