Abstract

Kayu Besi river upstream is a spring located at Bukit Peramun, Air Selumar Village. It is natural river that is included in a conservatiob area far away from community settlements. Unspoiled plasaces to be used astourist attractions and guarded for places that are used. The purpose of this study is to analyze the fish diversity index, uniformity, and the fish dominance in Kayu Besi river upstream, Air Selumar Village, Sijuk Subdistrict, Belitung Regency. The study was conducted in March 2019 in Kayu Besi river upstream. The tools used for fish sampling were rattan scoops, net scoops, and rattan fish traps.The analytical method used is descriptive method. The samples obtained were 30 individuals consisting of 10 species grouped in 6 families at station 1, 8  individuals consisting of 6 species grouped in 4 families at station 2, and the highest fish composition of 123 individuals consisting of 14 species which wasgrouped in 11 families at station 3. The Cyprinidae family was the family most commonly found in the waters upstream pf the Kayu Besi river. Fish diversity in the Kayu Besi upstream ranged between 1,244 – 1,993 which fell in the criteria of moderate diversity.
