Study of Identification Scientific Name Bantak Fish In The Lenggang River Belitung Island
Abstract
This study aims to identify the scientific naming of the Lenggang River Bantak Fish, Belitung Island. The results showed that the Bantak Fish has the scientific name Osteochilus wandersii. Bantak fish are scaly, have a pair of barbels, have 1 hard finger on the dorsal fin, have a rib line above the pectoral fin, this can mean that the bantak fish comes from the order Ostariophysi. Having a slightly downward mouth position, having 4 barbels, the stomach is not flat, angled, but rounded or flat, this fish comes from the Familia Cyprinidae. Furthermore, this fish has a rib line that extends in the middle of the tail, dorsal fin above slightly behind the beginning of the pelvic fin, has 2 flat nostrils, and mouth slightly downwards and has a number of anal fins with 5-10 weakly branched. The dorsal fin is 10-17 weakly branched and the lateral line scales are 32-37 which means that this fish is from the genus osteochilus. Between the lateral line and the dorsal fin of the bantak fish, there are 6-7 rows of scales, the scales of the lateral line are 32-37 and below 5-7 scales, from these results indicate the Bantak Fish species O. wandersii
