Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the stages of rearing Brown marbled grouper (Epinephelus fuscoguttatus), to know the mechanism of feeding and types of feed in grouper rearing activities and to know water quality monitoring in tiger grouper (Epinephelus fuscoguttatus) rearing activities at the Center for Marine Aquaculture. (BBPBL). The results showed that the stages of rearing Brown marbled grouper (Epinephelus fuscoguttatus) in BBPBL were carried out by providing adequate feed according to the size of the fish, then monitoring water quality and preventing pests and diseases in Brown marbled grouper (Epinephelus fuscoguttatus). Feeding depends on the mouth opening of the Brown marbled grouper with the principle of feeding the fish until it is full and there are two types of Brown marbled grouper feed, namely artificial feed and fresh feed. Water quality suitable for Brown marbled grouper (Epinephelus fuscoguttatus) is water brightness > 5 m, water depth of at least 7 m, temperature 27-30 C, salinity 27-34 ppt, DO 5 ppm, pH 7-8.5 nitrite ( NO₂ˉ) < 0.05 mg/l, nitrate (NO₃ˉ) < 0.008 mg/l, ammonia < 0.3 mg/l and Phosphate < 0.015 mg/l. Prevention of pests and diseases in Brown marbled grouper (Epinephelus fuscoguttatus) that can be done is providing adequate feed, keeping nets clean, soaking in fresh water regularly and giving vitamins.
