Abstract
Pomfret Fish is one type of seawater fish that has a very high omega 3 content. This study aims to determine the feeding technique of star pomfret (Trachinotus blochii), stocking density of star pomfret (Trachinotus blochii) in nursery tanks and the size of the fry of star pomfret (Trachinotus blochii). The activity was carried out at the Lampung Marine Cultivation Development Center (BBPBL). The study used a combination of observation, interviews and active participation methods. The results of the observations showed that the feeding activities of star pomfret (Trachinotus blochii) in BBPBL were fed ad libitum (feeding the fish until the fish were full). The usual feed given is in the form of artificial feed (pellets). The water quality in the nursery pond for star pomfret (Trachinotus blochii) is 28-29 oC, the degree of acidity or pH during maintenance is 7.88 - 8.06, the salinity of the water during nursery fish is 32 o/oo, Dissolved oxygen (DO) at the time of rearing the star pomfret was 4.44 ppm and the Ammonia in the nursery tank was 0.03. The stocking density of star pomfret (Trachinotus blochii) with a size of 2-3 cm, the stocking density of 200-2000 fish/m3, the stocking density of 4-5 cm in the nursery tank is 200-1500 fish/m3 maybe even more, whereas in seeds measuring 6-7 cm the stocking density is <1500 head/m3. Fish seeds that are ready to be stocked and sold to local farmers are usually 6-9 cm in size or according to consumer demand.
