Abstract

The Manggar River, East Belitung Regency is one of the waters that is a habitat for mangrove crab organisms. Mangrove crab (Scylla tranquebarica) is a crustacean animal that lives in mangrove and estuary ecosystems. This study aims to analyze the types of mangrove crabs, analyze the abundance of mangrove crabs and analyze the relationship between the abundance of mangrove crabs and environmental parameters in the Manggar River in the mangrove area of ​​East Belitung Regency. Mangrove crab data collection using purposive sampling method. Mangrove crab samples were taken based on the number of mangrove crabs caught using folding trap fishing gear. The analytical methods used are mud crab species analysis, abundance analysis, and Pearson correlation coefficient analysis. This research was conducted in December-March 2021. The results obtained one type of mud crab at each station, namely Scylla tranquebarica. The number of mud crabs obtained was 163 (ind/m2) at station I, 250 (ind/m2) at station II, and 106 (ind/m2) at station III. The total of all stations obtained are 519 (ind/m2). The abundance results obtained were 43 (ind/Ha). The strongest correlation is temperature with a correlation value of 0.659, the level of correlation is sufficient, namely pH with a correlation value of 0.480, Salinity with a correlation value of 0.461, and brightness with a correlation value of 0.438, while the level of correlation is very weak, namely at depth with a correlation value of 0.042.
