Tingkat Konsumsi Ikan Air Tawar di Masyarakat Kecamatan Gantung Kabupaten Belitung Timur

Abstract

Consumption of freshwater fish in Gantung District is very little, this indicates a lack of public interest in freshwater fish, so this study aims to determine what types of freshwater fish are often consumed by the Gantung District community, to find out the factors that influence the consumption of freshwater fish, and the analyze level of freshwater fish consumption in the Gantung District community. The research method used is a survey method, conducted in February and March 2022 with a total of 281 respondents. The data analysis method used was quantitative analysis, descriptive analysis and multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that there are 17 freshwater fish species that are often consumed by the people of Gantung District and the largest consumption is catfish and the smallest is Cempedik fish and Bantak fish. The factors that influence the consumption of freshwater fish in the Gantung District community are Price, Number of Family Members and Ease of Obtaining, for the consumption level of freshwater fish in the Gantung District community is 12.1 kg/cap/year. The way to increase public awareness to consume freshwater fish is to provide a forum for every activity related to freshwater fish such as freshwater fish cultivation and socialization in consuming fish, especially freshwater fish.
