Suitability Study and Strategy for the Management of Recreation Category Coastal Tourism Land in Perlang Village, Central Bangka Regency

Perlang Beach is one of the beaches in Central Bangka Regency which has tourism potential. This study conducts in June 2021 until September 2021 with taking primary data and secondary data. This study is conducted at three locations, Perlang, Dermaga Beach and Nadi Beach. Specifically, the purpose of this study is to analyze the suitability of beach tourism land for the recreation category and management at Perlang Village’s beach. Purposive sampling method used in this research with land suitability analysis and management strategy with SWOT analysis. Data collection in this study is carried out by direct observation to the field and interview respondents who are determined based on the Slovin’s concept. However, measurement of the suitability parameter for beach tourism is carried out at three station points from every beach. Therefore, the result of this study shows that the three coastal locations are included in the S1 category (very suitable) for beach tourism. The calculation of the SWOT matrix find out that the management strategy for Perlang Beach is Quadrant 1. There are 4 priority strategies for increasing tourist interest to visit Perlang Beach. Optimizing tourist facilities and infrastructure in Perlang Beach. Utilizing the potential of existing natural resources to optimize alternative tourism in Perlang Beach. Helping to increase the income and welfare of the local community to the government by providing opportunities for entrepreneurship. Optimizing management by increasing the promotion of tourist attractions and collaborating with other tourist attraction managers or travel agents.
