Composition and Conservation Status of Fish Caught by Payang Fishing Gear Landed at PPN Sungailiat Bangka Regency

Fishing activities need to be considered through data collection regarding the conservation status of fish species in the Nusantara Fishery Port (PPN) Sungailiat. The aim of the research is to analyze the composition and conservation status of fish caught with payang. Data collection will be carried out in September 2023 at Sungailiat PPN. This study used survey and observation methods with qualitative descriptive data analysis. The results showed that there were 9 families identified, namely Carangidae, Dorosomatidae, Rachycentridae, Scombridae, Leiognathidae, Siganidae, Nemipteridae, Serranidae and Loligonidae. The composition of catches by payang fishermen landed at Sungailiat PPN, Bangka Regency is 64.49% of the catch of demersal fish species and 33.20% of pelagic fish species and 2.31% for mollusk species. The main catch of payang during the study period was 4 species of fish and by-catch there were 10 types of fish. The conservation status of fish species landed at Sungailiat PPN by payang fishermen based on IUCN there are three criteria, namely 11 species classified as Least Concern (LC), two species classified as Near Threatened (NT) and one other species classified as Not Evaluated (NE), while based on CITES is Non Appendix. Fishing area carried out by payang fishermen in Sungailiat PPN, Bangka Regency with 17 coordinate points of fishing that is still in Bangka Belitung Waters and the most catch is obtained by the New Duta Raya ship at the coordinate points of 13 Pala fishing areas in Bangka Belitung Waters.
