Analysis of Fish Catch Using Fixed Gill Net Fishing Equipment at Perlang Village Pier, Central Bangka Regency

Fixed gill nets in Perlang Village are very important to develop. This study aims to analyze the construction of fixed gill net fishing gear and the composition of fish species using fixed gill net fishing gear in Perlang Village, Central Bangka Regency. Data collection will be carried out in January-February 2024 in Perlang Village, Central Bangka Regency. This study used observation method with qualitative descriptive data analysis. The results showed that the construction of fixed gill net fishing gear in Perlang Village consisted of a net body with a length of 700 m and 1000 m, a width of 3 m and a mesh size of 4 inches and 6 inches. The upper and lower ropes are 700 m and 1000 m long and 4 mm in diameter. A life vest rope with a length of 40 m is tied to the upper ruis rope. The buoys used use plastic materials. Polyethylene (PE) based ballast rope with a length of 30 cm which is tied to the bottom rope. The ballast used is made from tin and oval in shape. 2 anchors weighing 3 kg and upper and lower srampat to protect the net body from various kinds of damage. While the composition of fish catches as many as 10 species of fish with the main catch consisting of Manyung / manyong fish (Netuma thalassina), Hoile (Hexanematichthys Sagor), and Digging (Gnathanodon speciosus). Bycatch consisting of Mackerel (Rastrelliger sp), Sharks (Carchareus leucas), Seminyak (Diagramma pictum), and Patin (Pangasius pangasius).
