Study Of Macroalgae in Turun Aban Coral Reef

Abstract

Turun Aban have coral reef and macrolagae. This study are to analyze macroalgae community structure, to know the relation between macroalgae and coral reef and to identify useful macroalgae species in Turun Aban, Bangka. Macroalgae and coral reef data was taken with belt transect method. Location of the observation determined using purposive sampling method. The results showed that there are three groups of macroalgae (brown algae, green algae and red algae).  Turun Aban has 20 species macroalgae. Macroalgae density percentage are 13,85 % in Turun Aban. Lifeform percent coverage are 25,87% in Turun Aban. Correlation between macroalgae percent coverage and lifeform percent coverage in Turun Aban is R² = 0,48. Association macroalga inversely related to percent live coral cover, the increase in percent live coral cover marked decline in percent cover of macroalga. the utilization of type macroalga on the location is in the field which as materials for medicine
