Peer Review Process for Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat Universitas Bangka Belitung

1. Submission and Initial Assessment: Upon receiving a manuscript, the editorial board of Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat Universitas Bangka Belitung conducts an initial assessment to ensure that it aligns with the scope and guidelines of the journal. If the manuscript passes this assessment, it proceeds to the peer review stage.

2. Reviewer Assignment: The editorial board selects 2 (two) or more reviewers based on their expertise in the field relevant to the manuscript. Reviewers are chosen to ensure a thorough and comprehensive evaluation. Reviewers are not informed about the identity of the authors to maintain a single-blind review process.

3. Manuscript Review: Reviewers are provided with the manuscript and are given a period of 2 (two) weeks to review it meticulously. During this period, reviewers evaluate the manuscript's quality, methodology, significance, originality, and adherence to the journal's guidelines.

4. Reviewer Comments and Recommendations: Reviewers submit their feedback using a recommendation form provided by the journal. This form includes sections for comments, suggestions, and recommendations for the manuscript. Reviewers assess the manuscript's strengths and weaknesses and provide clear and constructive feedback.

5. Reviewer Recommendations: Based on their evaluation, reviewers make one of the following recommendations for the manuscript:

  • Accepted with Minor Corrections: The manuscript is suitable for publication with minor revisions or clarifications. The authors are expected to address these points before final acceptance.
  • Accepted with Major Corrections: The manuscript has potential but requires significant revisions to improve its clarity, methodology, or overall quality.
  • Rejected: The manuscript does not meet the journal's standards or is not aligned with the scope of the journal.

6. Editor's Decision: Taking into consideration the reviewers' feedback and recommendations, the editorial board makes a decision regarding the manuscript. If both reviewers recommend acceptance (with minor or major corrections), the manuscript moves to the revision stage. In cases of conflicting recommendations, the editorial board may seek additional opinions or make a decision based on their expertise.

7. Author Revisions: If the manuscript is recommended for revision, the authors are informed about the required corrections or improvements outlined by the reviewers. Authors are given a reasonable timeframe to address the reviewers' comments and make the necessary revisions.

8. Final Decision: After the authors submit their revised manuscript, the editorial board reviews the revisions and makes the final decision. If the manuscript meets the journal's standards, it is accepted for publication. If the authors have not adequately addressed the reviewers' concerns, the manuscript may be subject to further revision or rejection.
