KELAYAKAN KASITERIT DALAM TAILING PADA DISPOSAL TK 4.218 PT TIMAH TBK DESA PAKU KABUPATEN BANGKA SELATAN

Abstract

Primary tin ore mining Mining of TK 4.218 PT Timah Tbk at Paku Village, Payung District, South Bangka Regency produces tin ore concentrates with the tailings as residual disposal. Over time, disposal tailings more accumulate, even though they still contain cassiterite minerals, therefore it is necessary to calculate the economic feasibility of kasiterit minerals in tailings to be processed. A total of 20 samples of drill points (using Auger) in the tailings disposal area were taken systematically. Samples were analyzed microscopically to obtain cassiterite grade and calculate their reserves. The operational cost calculation performed to determine the feasibility of the tailings to be reprocessed. Based on the study, it is known that the minerals contained in tailings are cassiterite, ilmenite, pyrite, tourmaline, quartz, limonite, and biotite. The main mineral of cassiterite has an average grade of 0.91 kg Sn/m3, with an estimated tailing volume is 25,066 m3, a reserve of Sn is 21,545.99 kg. Based on the calculation, the tailing reprocessing cost is Rp 895,883,906 with a COG value is 0.1031 and a BEP is 2,583.16 m3. Accordingly, the tailings at disposal TK 4.188  PT Timah Tbk at Paku have economic values, and mine-feasible to be reprocessed.
