Abstract

Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) is a popular freshwater fish cultivated in Indonesia. The problem that arises in Tilapia cultivation is the Motile Aeromonas Septicemia disease caused by the bacteria Aeromonas hydrophilla. Treatment using chemicals is often carried out by farmers, while Indonesia has a wealth of herbal ingredients that can be used as medicine in fish farming. This research aims to determine the survival rate of fish infected with Aeromonas hydrophilla bacteria by treating them with lime leaf extract (Citrus aurantifolia) through the feed. Bacteria were destroyed using the Koch Postulate method 4 times until they reached LD50. Fish were injected intramuscularly with A. hydrophila bacteria at a density of 0.1 ml/fish. The treatments given were 20%, 40%, and 60%, Positive control (amoxicillin), and Negative control (pure feed). Treatment of MAS (Motile Aeromonas Septicemia) disease in Tilapia using different concentrations of Lime leaf extract showed an increase in the survival rate of the test fish as the dose increased. The 60% dose treatment had the highest effect on the survival of the test fish, reaching 82%. Lime can be used to treat fish diseases and minimize the use of chemicals.
