FISH DIVERSITY IN Betta schalleri HABITAT IN THE WATERS OF JADA BAHRIN, BANGKA REGENCY
Abstract
Bangka Island has the potential for native and endemic ichthyofauna diversity. One of the endemic fish found is Betta schalleri. In the B. schalleri habitat, it is necessary to research fish biodiversity to increase economic and ecological value and enrich biodiversity data. Knowledge of the characteristics of the natural habitat of B. schalleri in Bangka waters is the beginning of conservation and domestication. This research was conducted in the waters of Jada Baharin Village, Merawang District, Bangka Regency in July – October 2023 to discuss the diversity of fish species that live side by side with B. schalleri. The waters in Jada Bahrin where B. schalleri was found also identified 24 fish species. Water quality is at a temperature of 31°C and a pH of 4-5.
