Seagrass beds play an important role for various fish species that have high ecological and economic value by providing a place to find food, nurse and grow. This study aims to examine fish species diversity, composition, abundance, and dominance, as well as analyze the relationship between seagrass cover and fish abundance in the Tukak Waters, South Bangka Regency. The research was conducted in June 2024 at four predetermined stations. Seagrass data collection was carried out using the quadrat transect method to determine the percentage of cover, while fish data were collected using the swept area (sweep) method. The results showed that across the four observed stations, a total of 823 fish individuals were identified, comprising 23 species from 18 families, namely Carangidae, Chaetodontidae, Chanidae, Gerreidae, Gobiidae, Hemiramphidae, Labridae, Leoignathidae, Lethrinidae, Lutjanidae, Monachantidae, Mugilidae, Mullidae, Plotosidae, Siganidae, Shpyraenidae, Terapontidae, and Triacanthidae. The species with the highest composition was Leoignathus equula, accounting for 44.59% of the total population with 367 individuals recorded. The recorded fish abundance reached 1499 individuals per hectare, with a moderate level of diversity, relatively high uniformity, and a low dominance index. Furthermore, this study indicates that fish abundance is correlated with the percentage of seagrass cover, where a higher seagrass cover percentage corresponds to a higher fish abundance in the area.
