Abstract

Tanjung Pao Beach is a beach in the coastal area of South Bangka Regency which has good beach conditions and functions as a fishing area for the surrounding community and as a fishing base. The condition of the Mangrove Ecosystem in the area can be said to be preserved so that it greatly supports the survival of organisms that depend on the mangrove ecosystem area, one of which is Gelodok fish. Gelodok fish is one type of fish that has adaptations to two different habitats. This type of fish is more like an amphibian than a fish. Morphometric and morphological characters become a useful distinction to study various variations. This study aims to identify fish based on morphology and morphometrics, as well as analyze the habitat and environmental conditions of fish in Tanjung Pao Beach. The research was conducted in August 2025 at Tanjung Pao Beach, South Bangka Regency. The research method used eksploratif method and data analysis using Ms. Excel. Gelodok fish species found were Boleophthalmus pectinostris, Boleophthalmus boddarti and Periophthalmodon schlosseri. The average total length of Boleophthalmus pectinostris species was 17.41 cm, Boleophthalmus boddarti with an average total length of 14.98 cm and 23.15 cm for Periophthalmodon schlosseri. The average standard length of Boleophthalmus pectinostris was 14.85 cm, Boleophthalmus boddarti 12.83 cm and Periophthalmodon schlosseri 18.27 cm. Indicating the difference in average morphometric characters between the three species. Based on the measurement of environmental parameters, the temperature value is 32°C, pH 8, dissolved oxygen 4.8 mg/l, salinity 29‰. The texture of the substrate includes loamy sand. These environmental conditions support the habitat of spadefish at Tanjung Pao Beach, South Bangka Regency.
