Abstract

Sungkur is a traditional fishing gear used by Toboali fishermen to catch rebon shrimp. Rebon shrimp is the main raw material in making shrimp paste in Toboali District. This study aims to identify the construction of thrust fishing gear and find out how to operate the thrust fishing gear used in Toboali District, South Bangka Regency.The time and place of this research was carried out in November 2019 to December 2019 in Tanjung Ketapang Village and Rias Village, Toboali District, South Bangka Regency. Data taken from secondary data from various related agencies and primary data in the form of questionnaires were 74 respondents. The method of selecting respondents is done by the method of purposive sampling. Identification of the construction of bay fishing gear refers to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and according to the Republic of Indonesia Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Regulation No. 6 of 2010.The research methods used in the study are the questionnaire, interview, and observation methods. The analysis used is qualitative analysis. The results showed that the thrust fishing gear consisted of several parts, namely the stem, frame, legs, nets, bags, buoys, and weights. The operation of the thrust fishing gear is divided into several stages, namely the preparation of the fishing gear, to the location of the capture of the rebon shrimp, the operation of the fishing gear, and the collection of catches.
