Mexican Hat adalah jenis ruang bakar yang banyak digunakan pada motor diesel putaran rendah agar menghasilkan daya yang besar. Penetrasi semprotan diawali dengan primary breakup yang terjadi pada nozzle tip akibat pengaruh bentuk nozzle serta tekanan injeksi kemudian dilanjutkan dengan secondary breakup saat berinteraksi dengan udara dalam ruang bakar. Bentuk kepala piston Mexican hat yang cekung bertujuan untuk memecah droplet menjadi berukuran lebih kecil setelah tumbukan. Hasil penelitian menggunakan FLUENT 6.2 ini membuktikan bahwa peningkatan tekanan injeksi akan mempersingkat waktu breakup dan panjang breakup sedangkan regim splash saat semprotan biodiesel Minyak Goreng Bekas menumbuk dinding piston hanya terjadi pada tekanan injeksi 1750 dan 200 bar.
