Rancang bangun dan analisis regulator konvensional dengan regulator IC pada Toyota Kijang tipe KF 40

The charging system in older vehicles such as the Toyota Kijang KF 40 generally still uses a mechanical contact point type regulator and is prone to failure. This study aims to design a charging system from the contact point type to the Integrated Circuit (IC) type regulator on the Car Training Stand KF 40, as well as to analyze the performance comparison under constant load conditions. The method used is a quantitative experiment with a before-after design. Initial testing on the contact point regulator system showed a total failure with a stagnant output voltage at 12.16 V – 12.30 V, which indicates a discharging condition. After the design was carried out, the test results showed a recovery in performance with a stable output voltage in the range of 14.05 V – 14.21 V across all engine speed variations (1200-3500 RPM). This study proves that the design to the IC regulator successfully improves voltage stability and reliability of the charging system optimally
