Abstract

Waste management, greenhouse gas emissions and energy issues are caused by population growth which increases every year. Along with population growth, the need for product consumption and fuel consumption will also increase. This causes an increase in waste generation and a decrease in energy reserves. Addition, waste processing in the final processing at the TPA with a controlled landfill system produces greenhouse gas emissions. Therefore, to overcome these problems, it is necessary to study the condition of the Air Belo TPA and the potential of methane gas as a renewable energy source to provide a solution to these problems. Based on the analysis of the existing condition of the Air Belo TPA, it is necessary to handle the volume of waste so that it does not exceed the capacity of the TPA. Furthermore, based on the analysis of the methane content using the TS method, it is known that the methane gas produced is 95.92 tons/year to 335.6 tons/year. Based on these results, the methane gas produced has the potential to be developed as an alternative source of local residents
