PENGARUH GERAK PEMAKANAN (FEEDING) PADA PROSES PEMOTONGAN BENDA KERJA S45C TERHADAP HASIL KEKASARAN PERMUKAAN BENDA KERJA MENGGUNAKAN PAHAT BUBUT HSS ASSAB 17 DI MESIN BUBUT KONVENSIONAL
Abstract
Abstract
The magnitude of cutting speed, feeding motion and cutting depth, affect the quality of the lathe workpiece surface. This study aims to determine the effect of feeding motion, spindle rotation against the level of roughness and the influence of the tool to the average value of roughness. The research method used descriptive analysis with independent variables were feeding motion, spindle spinning speed and chisel lathe, the dependent variable was the roughness of the surface of the workpiece S45C. The research process starts from testing of chisel composition with Optical Emission Spectrometer Model Oes-5500, hardness tester with Equotip2 Hardness Tester, cutting workpiece with lathe BC 1500 Bj-1860GD at Mechanical Engineering Workshop of Bangka Belitung University, and measurement of surface roughness workpiece with Portable Surface Roughness Tester tool. The feeding motion used in this experiment was 0.072, 0.080, 0.088, 0.096, 0.104, 0.112, 0.144, 0.160, 0.176, 0.192, 0.224, 0.256 in mm / rev. Spindle rotation used varies, and the chisel used is HSS brand Assab 17 Sweden from two different manufacturers. The results of this study revealed that the lowest surface roughness at feed rate was 0.072 mm / rot and the highest surface roughness at feed rate was 0.224 mm / lap, and there was a tendency of higher spindle rotation (160 rpm, 200 rpm, 320 rpm and 550 rpm) Indicated an increasingly large average roughness value (5.45 μm, 5.03 μm, 6.79 μm, 7.29 μm). In the use of chisel HSS Assab 17 Sweden 1, it looks lower roughness value and on the use of chisel HSS Assab 17 Sweden 2, looks higher roughness value. The lowest roughness value of 5.03 μm, produced at 200 rpm spindle spin using Assab 17 Sweden 1 chisel and the highest mean value of roughness is 7.79 μm, generated at 550 rpm spindle spin using Assab 17 Sweden 2 chisel.
