The coastal areas of Anyer and Carita are better known as one of the leading tourist destinations in Banten Province, but in this area there are also hatcheries and vaname shrimp ponds. The existence of shrimp ponds can reduce water quality and become a source of spread of shrimp diseases, such as white spot syndrome virus (WSSV) which can transmit to hacthery. This research aimed to identify the presence of white spot syndrome virus (WSSV) in the aquatic environment and carriers found in the waters around shrimp ponds at the coastal areas of Anyer and Carita. This research was carried out from August to September 2022, located at the waters around shrimp ponds in the coastal areas of Anyer and Carita, Banten Province using the real time-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) detection method. The results showed that 4 samples were detected by WSSV out of 70 samples taken with Ct values of 36.67(1), 35.99(2), 21.14(3) and 35.61(4). The samples detected by WSSV were located at station 2 and station 5. These positive samples were detected in waters (sea water) and carriers (barnacles and hermit crabs).
